Joseph Smith received the revelation of the Word of Wisdom in one of the upstairs bedrooms of the store. When he did he walked into a room of the prophets in the Whitney House where 25 men were smoking pipes and chewing tobacco, and explained the revelation. Every single man in the room walked to the fire and burned it all despite the cost or the pleasure. They all knew of the surety that Joseph was a prophet.
